Sunset Party on the Edgewater Rooftop on 6/3

The Clean Lakes Alliance will be hosting the Sunset Party on Thursday, June 3rd on the Edgewater Hotel Rooftop from 5:0o – 8:30 pm!

The Sunset Party is the celebration to kick of the lake season in Dane County. We take this moment to bring together lake residents and community stakeholders to take a step back and enjoy an evening together. As a community we understand the importance of the lakes as a natural resource and recreational attraction. The Clean Lakes Alliance hosts this event to connect these two elements and bring awareness how important the lakes are.

The event will be held on the roof of the city’s most recognized hotel, The Edgewater Hotel. We will announce the Dane County Water Champions Award which honors those who have given outstanding contributions to protect and improve our county’s lakes and streams. Following the award, the nationally ranked Mad-City Water Ski team will perform on the lake for all to view.

This event is hosted by the Clean Lakes Alliance in partnership with Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission, The Edgewater Hotel, and Grey Goose Vodka.

Light Hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Attire is business casual.

The Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission’s Dane County Waters Champions Award is an annual recognition of outstanding contributions to the protection and improvement of our County’s lakes and streams at a ceremony during Take A Stake in the Lakes Days in June. These annual awards, presented by the Commission, recognize individuals, businesses and organizations whose commitment to Dane County’s water resources, and whose work on their behalf, has made a positive difference in protecting and improving water quality as well as the scenic, economic, recreational and environmental value of those lakes and streams. We salute these friends of Dane County Waters for their efforts and, as we do, we are all reminded that our actions, today, have a lasting impact on the future of these waters we treasure.

There are four awards:

  • To an individual whose commitment to Dane County’s waters and whose work on their behalf has resulted in a significant and lasting improvement in water quality, in our appreciation of the waters and in the future health of the County’s water resources.
  • To a business whose practices and values demonstrate an active and positive commitment to “doing well by doing good” through on-going efforts to protect and improve water quality in Dane County.
  • To an organization whose mission and accomplishments demonstrate a commitment to protecting and improving water quality in Dane County through the efforts of its members, through outreach and public awareness programs and through hands-on projects.
  • To a youth or youth group, whose activities to improve and protect Dane County’s water resources have resulted in a significant and lasting improvement in water quality and or quantity; or demonstrate success through outreach and public awareness programs and through hands-on projects.
