June 8 – Dane County Water Champions Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Edgewater Hotel

The Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission invites you to the annual Dane County Waters Champions awards ceremony,to be held Wednesday June 8 at the Edgewater Hotel overlooking Lake Mendota from 5pm to 7pm in the Pier and Rigadoon Room with the Awards Ceremony happening at 6pm.
The Commission’s Waters Champions Award is an annual recognition of outstanding contributions to the protection and improvement of our County’s lakes and streams at a ceremony during Take A Stake in the Lakes Days in June.
This year’s honorees are former County Executive Kathleen Falk and former Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz. County Executive Joe Parisi and Lakes and Watershed Commission Chair Melissa Malott will present the awards. Parisi and Malott will also thank outgoing Commission member Howard Teal for his service, and highlight four outstanding projects: community manure digester north of Waunakee, Stewart Lake restoration in Mt. Horeb, the “Wingra Waters” celebration in Madison, and the Middleton municipal stormwater practice at Lakeview Park.

July 31 – AquaPalooza
A floating music festival on Lake Mendota bringing boaters, sun and fun together in a great party atmosphere near Picnic Point.
August 27 – Clean Lakes Festival
The premier event of the Clean Lakes Alliance, hosting thousands of water enthusiasts to compete, watch, or just hang out and listen to music at Olin Park with the prettiest view in America as a backdrop.
September 10 – Sardine Run/Walk
A new running event in the making. Starts at Marigold downtown and winds through Madison streets to a lake shore party in the Sardine parking lot.
Decemeber 1 – Mendota Freeze Contest
The Clean Lakes Alliance and MyWeather.com are teaming up to host a contest to “Guess the Date” Lake Mendota freezes over. Click on the logo to the left to enter.
