Time: Check-in: 9:00 a.m. Start time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: The ride starts on the Lake Monona bike path next to Machinery Row Bicycles. Riders will travel clockwise around the lake for a ride that will take recreational cyclists approximately one hour and 15 minutes to complete,ending at Law Park for the Clean Lakes Festival where riders will receive a free beverage (beer [21+ years old] or soda) and sandwich. The bike course will remain open until 2:00 p.m. Ride distance is approximately 12 miles. There will be checkpoints along the route that will offer beverages.
Parking: Monona Terrace Ramp
Individual Riders: $25 for Single Rider & $25 pledge commitment to earn a Loop the Lake T-shirt*.
Team Riders: Create a team of 5 or more and make it a group activity. $25 registration fee for each rider and a team fundraising goal of raising $200. All team members will receive a Loop the Lakes T-shirt*.
Family Riders: $60 registration fee & $50 pledge commitment to earn Loop the Lake T-shirts*. Includes 5 family members – 2 adults and up to 3 kids. There will be an additional $10 registration fee per extra kid in order to receive a Loop the Lake T-shirt. * minimum pledge levels must be met to obtain a Loop the Lake T-shirt.
The first 20 individuals who raise $750 will receive a customized Lands’ End Schwinn Cruiser bicycle. The first 45 individuals to raise $100 or more will can pick a prize from the Loop the Lake Prize Vault. Prizes include the following Spectrum Brands’ products: George Foreman grill, Black & Decker blender and/or a Schwinn bike helmet. Loop the Lake is an annual bike ride around Lake Monona to highlight our community’s lakeshore bike paths and to support CLA’s lake improvement and protection efforts. The ride occurs the morning of the Clean Lakes Festival and finishes at the festival grounds. The first annual ride in 2013 established the official Lake Loop Scenic Bike Route, which offers resident cyclists a permanent, alternative scenic bike route through Madison and Monona.
Riders will pick up pledge prizes at the Loop the Lake check-in.
Registration for Loop the Lake is now closed. Day-of-event registration will be available from 9a.m.- 10a.m. on Saturday, July 26th. Acceptable payment methods will include: cash, credit card and check.
To make a pledge towards a rider, you can either give a payment directly to the rider or donate electronically by following this link [online pledges are now closed]. You’ll just need to know the rider’s name.
