Frozen Assets is one of the premier fundraisers of the Clean Lakes Alliance (CLA). More than just a cocktail party, Frozen Assets highlights the status of our lakes as our community’s number one asset.
The event is produced by the Friends of Clean Lakes as a friend-raiser and a fundraiser to raise support for the CLA and establish a “Frozen Assets” endowment at the Madison Community Foundation. The CLA administers grants from the fund to ensure that they reach organizations working to improve water quality within the Yahara watershed.
Frozen Assets quickly set itself apart as a fundraising party like none other, with each year bringing a new winter theme, stunning décor, beautiful cocktails and delectable hors d’oeuvres prepared by L’Etoile and Graze’s award-winning chef, Tory Miller. In the last three years, the event has quickly grown from 320 attendees to over 650, and our guests and sponsors have enabled CLA to raise nearly $150,000 for our lakes.
Frozen Assets attracts new people to the lakes issues, and provides an entry point to involvement with the CLA whether through a viewing of our video segments that loop throughout the event, a connection made with a board member or Friend of Clean Lakes, or a donation made after learning more about the projects and programs that are improving and protecting the Yahara lakes. Frozen Assets increases the visibility of the CLA in the community, and the connections made at this event become the start of a relationship that allows our organization to support community members on their path from an event attendee to a lake advocate.
